centuries ago depicts the fall
of man on judgement day and
jesus on his throne.
the screams of quivering
bodies are thoughtlessly
ignored while the arch-angel
rears his blade and weighs
the value of the souls.

outside the epic imagery,
the symbolism's clear.
heavens right around the corner
if you live your life in fear.
a soldier of the church is a part
we're willed to play because we
all know a good war is where
the money can be made.

it's promised that a martyr's
life awaits the ones who give
their lives; these fucking kids
consent to death based on pious
fucking lies. an enemy of god
will surely raise the tithe;
and enemy of god will show
us wrong and right.
